Settling for "normal" growth is just a slow way of standing still. So the approach is: test new strategies constantly, play a short game while everyone else plays the long one, and aim to be the outlier the data never predicted.
Because "normal" is just the average of everyone else's decisions. Copying it guarantees an average life. Being wrong on purpose, early and often, is the only real shot at anything else. Most people avoid that risk because a failed experiment stings right away, while playing it safe costs nothing you can see today. But averaged out over a life, safe is the more expensive option — it just charges you slowly enough that you never notice the bill.
